FOUR'S TEACHING TEAM
Myra was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she met and married her high school sweetheart. She received her BS in special education from The Ohio State University and taught for five years before becoming a stay at home mom to their three (now grown) boys. She loves to play tennis and swim, garden and cook, and spend time with her boys. She has taught at UPPS since 2009 and has been a Fours’ teacher since 2011 where she delights in the wonder, excitement and enthusiasm of young children.
Amy Ferguson joined the UPPS staff as a Two’s teacher in 2011. Amy had been substituting at area preschools and also designs jewelry which she creates from silver or from “vintage pieces” she finds at antique sales. In addition to an extensive background and interest in art, Amy also had been an aerobics instructor and, with her husband James, have three children.
Katie received an A.B. in Psychology from Harvard University with a focus on preschool cognitive development. She also earned a K-6 teaching certificate and taught math, Pre-K 4, and Kindergarten for six years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She began subbing at UPPS in 2014 and became a teacher in the Fours’ class in January, 2018. She has lived in Chapel Hill for 25 years with her husband and three children and loves listening to music, running, and spending time with family and friends. Katie is passionate about teaching young children!
