ABOUT
University Presbyterian Preschool is a half-day early childhood program serving 2-5 year old children. The preschool provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
Our Classes
UPPS is staffed by highly trained, nurturing teachers who truly enjoy working with young children.

Each of the classrooms is set up to have a low teacher to student ratio.

Two's ratio = 1 : 5

Three's ratio = 1 : 6.5

As part of the curriculum, each of the classes has a music class twice a month.
Mission
OUR WORK IS PLAY!

We know from research that young children learn best when they are allowed to be hands-on, explore, play, and construct knowledge. We also know that, developmentally, they need social play to build vital social-emotional skills. This is why, in our program, we work to preserve play in order for kids to learn. We also believe that in order to teach effectively through play, we, as teachers, must be aware, prepared, and intentional. We have to know the subject matter in order to effectively use the method. Play is a powerful teaching tool, but that doesn’t make it a simple teaching tool.
